I have worked as a psychotherapist since qualifying at the Chiron Centre for Holistic Psychotherapy in 1992. I have a thriving psychotherapy practice in Norwich and North Norfolk, working with individuals over 18, both male and female, and from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds across Cromer. I also offer supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists.
I am a member of the training staff at Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre, a part-time tutor on the MA in Body Psychotherapy at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and offer occasional training courses on behalf of the local authority and third sector organisations.
Qualifications and accreditations
I am a full member of the Chiron Association of Body Psychotherapists and also a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and adhere to their code of ethics. I am also on the UKCP register of accredited supervisors.
I’ve worked with people all of my adult life
Soon after completing my B.A. in Social Anthropology (Trinity Hall, Cambridge 1976), I became involved in youth, community and social work and went on to train and qualify as a social worker and probation officer (M.A. in Social Work, University of Kent, 1980).
During the 1980s, I worked in a variety of therapeutic and social work settings in London, and undertook two years of training in Gestalt therapy. Later I went on to train in Integrative body psychotherapy at the Chiron Centre in Ealing, London (1989-92) working for two years in their clinic under supervision before moving to Norfolk in 1994.
Over the last twenty three years, I have worked as a psychotherapist in private practice, as well as offering brief focused counselling and psychotherapy within the NHS for over ten years. I have run training courses in counselling and psychotherapy and have a broad theoretical understanding of a range of theoretical approaches including Gestalt, biodynamic psychotherapy, body psychotherapy, person-centred counselling and psychodynamic work.
